This is a quote that has been a special reminder for a large part of my art career. It’s been a mantra that I believe in, and as I create visual stories, will keep it close to my heart.

My name is Jane Gahng and I’m the creative behind Red Letter Day! I’ve always been fascinated by how art can take you into another world. My passion started very young and took me to Italy in college to study the masters of art. With a background in the classics and a desire to pursue and make my own work, I tried to expose myself to as much of the world around me as I could. After college, I realized the importance of learning some design skills, so I gained an education through YouTube & workshops! Self taught in the art of graphic design and lettering, I naturally leaned in on learning calligraphy and have been taught by some incredible instructors in copperplate calligraphy. (Former White House Chief Calligrapher, Pat Blair, David Grimes, Joi Hunt and Ed Fong)

I live and breathe art and especially love creating stories through my illustrations & calligraphy.

When I’m not sitting at my desk working on client projects, I’m basically making a mess trying my hand at different mediums. There isn’t anything like working with your hands to get your creative juices flowing!
